the new 2007 Washington dollar coins

I just received my first 2007 Washington dollar coin at the grocery store today. Have you folks seen these things yet? They look like a Sacagawea dollar except they have Washington on the obverse and Lady Liberty on the reverse. Another unique feature is that the date and mintmark is printed along the edge of the coin. I don't think the U.S. mint has ever done anything like that before. Interesting...

More prostituting historic norms by hiding "In God We Trust" in letters so small along the rim that they can't hardly be seen and so fine and shallow that after 30 days in circulation they'll wear down and disappear?

Sorry but 'ole George looks more like a subway or carnival token to me.

I wish they'd come out with a proof version minted in something other than crap metal like they did with the silver proof state quarter sets, otherwise like you said it's just a stupid token.

I've already put a lil over a 100 of'em into circulation, buying lunch and feeding the damn parking meters in Clayton...

I like the design of the Revese better than the Obverse...

I asked a local coin dealer what he thought of them, he smirled and said, they look like ""Chucky Cheese"" Tokens...

Keep looking for "Errors", maybe you'll find one worth something...

get it certified and toss it on Ebay... I guarentee it'll go for 250 minimum...

Make sure to tell'em how rare it is...
